Not sure what these are, but they looked cool!

Nice! We call them Indian Pipe (Latin name Monotropa uniflora) and they're a unique wildflower because they have no chloryphyll. They grow on the forest floor and get nutrients from decaying plant matter. I have an interest in Newfoundland wildflowers, from my comments you can tell these grow in Newfoundland. :)

It's funny that you should post this... I was hiking the other day and came across tons of these and had to come home and look up what they were! I was thinking they were mushrooms until I saw a big bumblebee climb up into one! :)
